Today is the birthday of Tom Stoppard. The playwright is best known for his work Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, an existential play featuring two of the minor characters in Shakespeare's Hamlet. He also co-wrote the screenplay for the award-winning 1999 film Shakespeare in Love.
